Sarah-Jane Rawkins: My first experience with Yoga was during a trip to Thailand in 1997.. The very first class completely inspired me and sparked a deep interest in the subject of Yoga which still continues to grow.. I spent many years following many different styles of yoga with different teachers internationally..I particularly loved the precision, integrity, authenticity and serious disciplined approach of the Iyengar system of Yoga….. the attention to detail, alignment and subtilties of asanas and pranayama inspired me to follow the 3 year Iyengar Teacher Training program in the Netherlands which I completed in 2007.. I have followed classes and workshops with senior teachers in Netherlands, Australia, Canada, United States, Crete and England… I have been several times to study in India and spent 4 months studying at the Iyengar Institute in Pune India… I love to teach others and share my passion for Yoga ….. I have been teaching regularly in the Netherlands since 2006…. I have taught childrens Yoga…Assisted at Workshops… Assisted at Medical classes… I have taught workshops in England, Northern California and Crete…….. I continue to further my studies of the subject, working with the Iyengar Teacher Certification system… I received Intermediate Junior 1 in 2011 and will continue to work towards higher levels of practice and teaching…..
Yoga is a life long journey of exploration which is ever evolving… The more you learn, the more there is to learn, penetrating deeper levels of your self, your life, and your understanding……. I love to share what I have learnt and wish to light the spark of inspriration in others…..

Daniela Gfeller: In 2001 – working in the high-tech industry as an online communication specialist – I reluctantly joined a fellow colleague for a yoga class at the Iyengar Yoga Institute in Amsterdam. I didn’t think it would be my cup of tea but I was quickly proved wrong. I liked the active form of doing asanas, the precision that comes with it and the physical/mental benefits. As a web and graphic designer I spend a lot of time behind a computer and it is my experience that yoga counteracts the shortening of the front of the body, lengthens the muscles and energizes the spine.
Teaching opened a new dimension for me and I enjoy helping other students by sharing the knowledge I’ve gained so far. In my classes I believe in first creating a firm foundation for practice and then gradually building up to go into deeper levels. My teaching style is challenging but clear and precise. I help students develop their bodies and improve their relationship with their bodies. “Seeing students in Savasana and noticing how much they have changed since they first entered the class room is just wonderful and that makes me very happy”.
Based in Amsterdam, I teach different weekly classes, workshops and private lessons at my house, at the Iyengar Yoga Institute, YogaMoves in Utrecht and at Squash en Wellness in Bussum.
Daniela is a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher at the Intermediate Junior 3-level and continues to study with many senior teachers in the Netherlands and abroad.
